  • Transportation Careers and Global CommerceThis course combines Social Studies Economics with Automotive Career Investigations, exploring economic principles through the lens of the automotive and transportation industries. Students will analyze global trade, supply chains, and market forces while connecting theory to hands-on automotive concepts—making economics practical and relevant.
  • Aircraft MaintenancePairing Applied Mathematics with Aviation Maintenance, this course brings math to life through the mindset of a maintenance technician. Students apply mathematical reasoning to real-world aviation scenarios, from precision measurements to problem-solving in aircraft systems, building both technical skills and analytical thinking.

These interdisciplinary courses not only fulfill graduation requirements but also prepare students for high-demand careers by integrating academic knowledge with industry-based learning. 

Course Options

Our program offers a clear progression from foundational courses to advanced technical training, giving students hands-on experience with real-world systems. At the introductory level, students can build essential knowledge through Transportation Careers and Global Commerce (grades 11–12), Power and Engines (grades 9–12), and Aircraft Maintenance (grades 10–12). For those ready to dive deeper, advanced automotive classes include Steering and Suspension, Braking Systems, Electronic Systems, and Engine Performance (grades 9–12). Aircraft Maintenance and Applied Math - New for 2026-27

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Higher Algebra

Build real-world aviation skills through the technical side of flight. This hands-on course introduces aircraft systems, tools, safety, and the applied math used by FAA A&P mechanics (measurement, tolerances, torque, weight & balance, electrical fundamentals, and blueprint reading).

This is a year-long, dual-taught course for students with prior simulated flight training. This course explores advanced flight training scenarios, meteorology, and the global economic impact of aviation, emphasizing flight operations and economic principles.

Designed as a foundation for advanced automotive courses and essential knowledge for future pilots in the Minnetonka Aviation Pathway, this course builds technical skills and problem-solving abilities that apply across aviation, automotive, and engineering careers.
