Since 1986, we have funded innovative technology, programs, materials and experiences in Minnetonka schools. The curricular programs and materials we support excite and motivate Minnetonka students and teachers, preparing them to thrive in our rapidly-changing world.

2026 CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE
The Minnetonka Public Schools Foundation is proud to be a leading sponsor of the 21st Annual Celebration of Excellence Awards recognizing the achievement of teachers, staff, and community in the District. We are looking forward to the program on May 14, 2026.

 

PROGRAMS

The foundation funds a variety of teacher grants for Minnetonka classrooms. Grant requests should have a direct curricular tie, be innovative, or creatively add to student experiences. Average grant awards are between $100 and $3,500. Applications close mid-February followed by grant award distribution. 
 
TONKA GRAMS - Teacher Appreciation Week
The Minnetonka Public Schools Foundation is thrilled to celebrate teachers through the return of our Spring Teacher Appreciation program. Community members across the District participate by purchasing anchors to recognize an educator or staff member. These anchors were placed at the entrance of every school, and each recipient received a personalized note from a community member. These tokens of appreciation are on sale Mid April through Early May.  Thank you for helping us share our appreciation for our fantastic teachers!

Grants in Action

The Minnetonka Public Schools Foundation maintains alignment with its charter and its intent to serve the Minnetonka Public School District through its teacher grant program and select long-term investments via it's endowment. In addition, through special arrangement, the Foundation may provide opportunities to support fundraising for scholarships approved by the District. The Foundation cannot accept donations or designations for programs that are not approved by the Foundation and the District.

The Minnetonka Public Schools Foundation does not serve as a pass-through or fiscal agent (i.e., collecting and holding funds on behalf of another group or forwarding donations to another organization) for booster clubs, PTO/PTAs, student clubs, fundraisers, or other extracurricular programs or activities. This is not permitted under our governing guidelines and nonprofit status.
