It’s fair to say that last spring began one of the most challenging times Minnetonka High School has ever faced, starting with the sudden school closure on March 15 due to COVID-19. Together, we adapted to the challenges and opportunities of e-learning.

When a group of Minnetonka High School students learned about Hope House, a nonprofit dedicated to ending child homelessness, they decided to raise awareness about this issue by organizing an event. The Show of Hands ‘Fun’raiser took place last October and was a resounding success. More than $27,000 was raised.

Minnetonka High School is constantly looking to improve its programs and provide the best possible educational experience for each student, based on their unique skills and passions. Over the past year, there has been a renewed focus on improving the trades and technical education program.

Minnetonka High School’s head varsity football coach, Dave Nelson, has led the Skippers for 18 years. This season, he stepped onto the field for the last time in that role as he announced his retirement.

Every year Minnetonka Alumni Magazine features graduating seniors who are already accomplished in the areas of academics, arts, athletics and supporting a positive atmosphere. Be sure to keep a close watch on them as they move beyond Minnetonka High School!

Joel Newman and Scott Storlie, two teachers at Minnetonka Middle School East, biked through several Minnetonka neighborhoods to greet their 8th grade Spanish Immersion students when school buildings closed in March. It was just one of many creative ways that teachers and students found to stay connected during the COVID-19 pandemic.
